I'm Lindsey Ralston and this is how to put designs on shorts. Today, I'm going to show you how to take a pair of denim cutoff jeans, use a bleach pen and make a fun polka dot accent on your new cutoff shorts. Okay so after you've gone and cut your jeans that you are ready to use into shorts, we'll go ahead and get started and take a piece of paper like construction paper, printer paper, something and slide it underneath in between the two layers that you are working on. Once that's done, you want to take your bleach pen and you want to use a bleach pen, I've tried this with regular bleach and it just doesn't, it's not as effective. So using one of those bleach pens you can get at the store and go ahead and start, you're just going to start doing polka dots, literally just making sure you get enough bleach pen out and start polka dotting all over the side of the shorts that you have that piece of paper under. That piece of paper is there so you don't get bleach all the way through. So just do polka dots all over until you get what you like. Once you've got the polka dots that you like, set that aside for a minimum of 30 minutes so you get a chance for that bleach to soak in and start making those awesome polka dots you are putting on. After the 30 minutes have gone by, you want to take it and do a quick rinse in the sink, go ahead and just rinse that bleach off so you are not putting it in the laundry with bleach all over it, do a quick rinse, get it off. You can start to see how well that bleach has done with the polka dots and then you are going to take that, throw it in the wash, in the dryer. Once it's all done you have an awesome pair of shorts with customized bleach polka dots.
