Hi, I'm Paula Pierce, and this is how to cut a T-shirt half way with the strings hanging. A cute way to restyle or up-cycle a T-shirt is to cut it with some fringes hanging. You can then use it as a layering piece, or maybe wear it to a concert. To do this project, you will need a knit T-shirt, some sharp fabric scissors and some sort of a straight edge. Lay your shirt flat. It may help to gently iron it. Cut off the bottom edge of your shirt. Decide where the stopping point of your fringe will be, and lay the straight edge there as a guide. Cut fringe up to the straight edge, being careful to be as neat and straight as possible. Simply pull on each length of the fabric to create a nice fringe.
