I'm Paula Pierce, and this is how to whip stitch a T-shirt applique. Using a simple whip stitch is an easy way to add an applique to an otherwise plain T-shirt. This applique happens to be from another garment that I just cut the motif out and used it to add some style to this shirt. First you need to select a shirt on which to apply your applique. Next, you need to select something to applique. You need embroidery thread and a needle, and you will need some pins or fuseable webbing to hold your applique in place while you stitch it. Go ahead and fuse or pin your applique to the T-shirt. Thread your needle with your choice of thread. A whip stitch is a simple stitch that basically binds your applique to your T-shirt, giving it a nice decorative edge.
