Hi, I'm Paula Pierce, and this is how to applique overalls. Simple applique is a cute way to personalize overalls or perhaps create a great gift. It's simple and easy to do, and today I'm gonna show you how. The first thing you need is a pair of overalls that you want to applique. You also need some fabric to make your applique, scissors, a sewing machine or embroidery thread and a needle. Then you will need to select a shape or design you wish to applique. You can use a pattern or just draw one yourself. Cut out your shape in your chosen fabric. Next you need to secure the shape to your overalls. You can do this with pins, but they will tend to get in the way. I like to use a fuse-able webbing to iron the shape into place. Carefully sew around your shape with a close zig-zag stitch. You may want to practice on some extra fabric. If your prefer the handmade look, you can simply whip stitch around the edges with embroidery thread.
