Hi. I'm Ava Lynne Green. On this video, I'm going to show you how to do an easy Christmas topiary. To do so you will need silk, flowers, green floral tape, ribbon and either a 3 inch Styrofoam ball or a 4 inch Styrofoam ball, depending on the size of the topiary, battery operated strand of lights, half inch dowel cut into the height of the topiary that you want, or you just need some sort of container that you can fill and set the dowel in. You'll also need some Spanish moss. The first thing that you're going to do is cut your dowel into the length that you need and then mix the plaster according to the instructions of, on the package and fill the small container. Set your dowel down in the plaster as it begins to harden. Make sure that it's straight and then let it finish hardening. Push the silk leaves up against the bloom and cut the blooms off with about 1 inch left of the stem. And then you just start at the opposite side from where you put your pilot hole, and push the silk flowers down into the ball. Once you get your ball covered take the, or a piece of the floral tape, pull it slightly and start wrapping down the dowel. And then take your ball and stick it down through the pilot hole. That's how you make a simple Christmas topiary. You can find the instructions for this project and others at Terri's Yarns and Crafts.
