Hi, I’m Heather Klar. “Do Stone Washed Jeans and a Jean Vest Go Together?” There’s many different styles of jeans, including stone wash, as well as vests, and they all have different places in your fashion wardrobe. Stone washed jeans have a very specific look. It’s not personally something I really like. It’s a little bit coming back into style. When I think about stone washed jeans, I think the late ‘80s, early ‘90s. So, in certain circles they are coming back in style. Again, not my look. This is a good example of what stone washed look like. As far as jean vests, they also have a very unique place in fashion history, in my opinion. I’m not really a fan of jean vests, either. Jean vests that look more like a jean jacket without sleeves can look okay with maybe a darker jean. In general, if you’re going to try and do any kind of look where it’s a jean on jean, also known as the “Canadian tuxedo,” I recommend contrasting the jean colors hopefully as much as possible. You don’t ever want to have two jeans almost matching or kind of matching. You want to have them contrasting as much as possible – either a dark jean shirt maybe, and a lighter jean, you know, jean. Or, vice versa. Maybe it has some sort of stripes or style, but in general I would recommend no jean vest with stone washed jeans.
