Hi, my name is Christina Gavenda with, and today we're going to talk about how to sew a ribbon on a dress. For this project you'll need: your dress, a pair of scissors, lighter, ribbon, straight pins, and your sewing machine. We're gonna start by taking our ribbon and wrapping it around basically where it's going to land on your waist and then add several inches on each end so that you can tie a bow. Cut your ribbon, using the lighter we're gonna seal each end using the heat. Make sure the flame doesn't touch your ribbon. This will keep it from unraveling. Find the middle of your ribbon, we're gonna pin it on the middle of the waist of the dress where you want it to sit. Now we're gonna take our dress and pull the fabric and ribbon so that they lay flat right at the edge of this side of the dress. Now I'm going to use a straight pin and pin it. We're gonna do the exact same thing to the other side. Next we're going to stitch our ribbon on using matching thread. We're gonna stitch it down backstitching at the front and the back of the ribbon. We're going to do the exact same thing to the other side. The last step is to clean up your stitches by snipping any extra thread that might be hanging on. Ribbon is a great way to adorn a dress. Thanks so much for watching my name is Christina and today we talked about sewing ribbon to a dress.
