Hi, I’m Holly Silva, and I’ve been a crafts expert for about 15 years now, and I’m going to show you today how to make butterfly crafts for kids. Now, here I have some pipe cleaner. We can use any color that you’d like. When we’re making butterflies, it’s got to be colorful. It’s really got to be colorful. So, what I have here is, what I do is, around just one of the edges, we’re going to wrap whichever piece is longer, happens to be longer, or, you know, same size – it doesn’t really matter. I just happen to have these scratch pieces here that were left over, and we’re going to twist them. Twist them all the way up, because this is going to be our body, okay? Now, we’re not going to twist them all the way. We’re going to keep some little antenna space here. So, we just grab each end up, and we twirl the ends, you know, to make the little antenna feelers, okay? Now, that’s our body. Now, the body’s done. So, I have another piece of scratch paper, this one is yellow. Again, we’re using bright colors, because butterflies are just such lovely little pieces of creation. They’re so beautiful. So, what we’re going to do is fold the piece of paper in half, and cut out the wings. And, butterflies come in all shapes and sizes, and their wings are all different, but what really matters is that…there we are. Okay, now, it doesn’t look like much now, but wait until you get it stuck to the body there. Alright, so now that we have that, we get our double-stick tape, and get a nice piece – we want it about the length of the body. And, put it there on top, and stick our body through it, through the wings. Now, squeeze it, close it in over, just to make sure it’s nice and stuck there. Alright, that’s not going anywhere. So, now all we have to do is draw some little designs using different colors if you’d like. You can use markers, or, if you want to be really creative, you can even use other pieces of construction paper and use the construction paper as more color for the wings. You can do anything that you like. This is your imagination piece, and this is your creativity. So, do as much as you want. They can be abstract, they can be exact, they can be really detailed, or they can be plain, you know, or simple, whatever you’d like to do. Now, for this you can stick it to a wall, you can stick it to windows, which would be really cute. You can hang them in your car – all you have to do is grab another piece of double-stick tape, stick it to the underside of your butterfly, and hopefully it won’t fly away. Have a great time. Happy spring, everyone! We’ll see you next time.
