Hi. I'm Holly Silva and I've been a crafts expert for about 15 years now. Today, we are going to make a birthday card out of poster board. Let's get started. So we have a big piece of paper here. It's 11 and a half by 14 I believe. It's a really nice sized card. So what we're going to do is fold it longways so it's a nice tall funky card. Most people don't get these so it'll make it really special and something that will really stand out. Now what you're going to do to make this edge nice and clean is grab the edge, the flat end of your scissors and rub it along the side like this. That makes it nice and neat at the edge. Now typically you want to use your ruler, anything else, but this will work just fine. Now birthday cards are a lot of fun. What we want to use is lots of colors, so grab your pencils and grab your pastels and crayons and whatever else you want. The most important thing about birthday colors, birthday cards, is colors. So I've chosen all my colors here and what we're going to do is we're going to draw balloons because balloons are so awesome for birthdays. I think that balloons are one of the coolest things that people ever thought about bringing others as gifts for birthdays because they're just so much fun. OK and here's some more balloons. Yay. And you can make sound effects too if you want. Because sound effects are really important when you're doing crafts and making cards, things like that. And you can do whatever you want in the balloons, because you know, as long as everybody knows what a balloon is, so even if it's kind of silly or not quite perfect, you still get the idea. See. This one I'm swirling the blue and yellow in to. This is a card and art project that we're doing right now. So there's a big balloon. We like big balloons too. Big fat balloons. Yay balloons. You know I heard that there was a helium shortage. It was my birthday recently and a friend of mine brought me some balloons and she could only bring me six balloons because the lady at the store said there was a helium shortage. True story. I don't know if that's true but that's what she said. That's what the lady at the store told my friend. So. I believe my friend. And we're going to make some strings and there's four balloons and got to have four strings. And we're going to make a nice bow. Yay bow. Because it's a birthday. And let's just say that somebody is turning 24. We're going to make a nice big S on it. And you're going to say smile. Smile. It's your birthday. Smile, happy birthday, that's what you say. Like that. And that there is your happy birthday card. So now you can write anything you want inside. You can put pictures, you can grab pictures that you've printed out and you can stick it on here or stick it on here and you can continue drawing with pencils and write something else really nice inside. Or maybe put a picture of your friend and you or your friend and your dog or something. Or your friend and his dog, or her dog. You can do anything you want because it's a birthday and you want it to be happy. Well there was a birthday card. I enjoyed it, you enjoyed it, your friend is going to enjoy it, my friend is going to enjoy it, we're all going to have a great time because it's a party. Maybe. I don't know. I don't know where you're sending your card or if you're going to drop it off or whatever but I know they're going to love to receive it. So if you have any questions on this or anything else, let us know, we'd love to help you out, see you next time.
