Hi, my name is Melissa Barrad the owner of I Do…Weddings! In San Diego, and I'm here today to teach you how to create your very own boutonniere out of carnation. Carnations are very easy, functional, low priced, easy flowers to work with. So you can see here I've created a finished product, it's very, very simple. I simply cut the carnation to the desired length and then I added a little bit of lace ribbon to it just to make it a little bit more visually interesting. While you can certainly wire flowers as well I think this is a really great way to go, it's something that anyone can do and it's very, very easy. So you can see this is a lace adhesive very, very easy to find, I found mine at Paper Source and because it's an adhesive it makes it even easier to put on the actual stem. And what I'm doing is I'm just slowly turning the carnation and the stem and wrapping the lace adhesive right around the base. I want to make sure to go all the way down to the bottom so you're covering the bottom of the stem and then working my way back up. And there you go. I'm Melissa Barrad the owner of I Do…Weddings! In San Diego and I just taught you how to create a boutonniere with a carnation.
