Hi, everyone. I'm hairstylist, Amanda Shackleton, and today I'm going to show you how to do a long kind of loose braided messy hairstyle. These are really in right now and there's so many different ways that you can do this. I'm going to show you one of my favorite tricks to do if you need to get a quick little hairstyle to go out or you don't feel like really doing your hair one day you can just go ahead and section the hair into two even sections or ponytails and then leave a couple of the pieces out in the front because we want it to be loose and a little bit sexier in the front and take three even sections just like that, starting with the longest section, bring it over the middle section and then just keep taking each section and bringing it over the middle one and go all the way down. You don't want to pull too tightly on the hair when you're doing this because we want the braid to be kind of big and fat and we don't want it to be this little tiny braid. So just keep going until you get to the end and it's up to you, if you want to leave some of the ends out and you want to make it like a messy end you can do that. If you want to also braid it all the way to the end so there are no pieces sticking out, you can do that as well. I'm going to leave a little bit of hair out, maybe just like that much, go ahead and take my elastic and just secure this and then this is the fun part. You can pretty much do whatever you want right now. I think I'm going to do something slightly to the side and I'm just going to take these braids and kind of wrap them around each other and then just give them a twist just like that. And now we just start pinning, just take a bunch of pins. Make sure you put enough pins in because we don't want the braid to fall out. So I would recommend especially if you have long hair to use these kind of pins like this that are a little bit bigger than the smaller ones and just keep pinning it all the way around. A good trick for pinning your hair to make sure that it stays in is to actually crisscross the pins over, kind of like that and that will secure the hair really really well. Okay so one or two more pins and then I'm going to do a little bit of an accessory on the hair. I picked this flower. I think it's really pretty. It's got a lot of beautiful color to it. You can put this anywhere you want but I like to put it right kind of behind the ears on the side of the chignon of the messy chignon and go ahead and turn to the camera, there you go. You have a beautiful finished hairstyle for long hair with braids. I'm Amanda Shackleton for NYbridalbeauty.com.
