Hi, everyone. I'm hairstylist, Amanda Shackleton, and today I'm going to show you how to do nice waves with a ponytail. I've gone ahead and teased up the back section of the hair here and pulled back most of the hair into a low ponytail like this. The reason why I did that is because I wanted to make it into a fancier ponytail and I think adding a little bit of teasing at the back here makes it definitely more interesting looking. Next what you want to do is just take small sections of the hair from the front here and just wrap it around the barrel of your iron, just like that. You don't even need to open the barrel up. You don't even need to use your fingers, just give it a quick wraparound so it gives it a nice kind of wavy texture like that. We'll do a couple more pieces and then I'll show you a trick to really make this look pretty and finished. It's a really nice style for going out in the evening as well. Alright, so let's take our last piece, wrap it around. when I wrap it around the barrel, I like to direction it away from the face, this way when we go to pull it back it just naturally moves in that direction, perfect. With a little bit of a shine spray, I'm going to go ahead and give this some shine. This will help to get some of the flyaways away and to make it look just a little more manageable and then we're going to take a piece of hair, just give it a little twist like that to get some texture in the sides of the hair, bring it around to the side of the ponytail, go ahead and pin it in and this doesn't have to be perfect by any means. It can be just kind of pulled back, twisted, pinned wherever you want it because it's supposed to be loose and messy. We're going to come take one more piece, one more pin and we'll leave that front piece down because I think it looks really nice with the hairstyle and there you go. That's it, just a few steps and you've got a really beautiful ponytail. I'm Amanda Shackleton, hairstylist from
