Hi I'm Coryanne Ettiene, and today I'm going to be showing you how to make a handmade silver Christmas tree ornament. I love repurposing things, and to be honest, I'm a bit of a magpie. I love all things that twinkle and shimmer, but I'm not a fan of glitter. So finding acrylic metallic paints and re purposing old unloved Christmas items is a great way to make a handmade silver Christmas tree. I'm using this unloved green wooden tree Christmas tree that sat in our Christmas tree box for years and years and just hasn't been loved. And I'll be turning it into a handmade silver tree. Using this fantastic acrylic silver paint. Using my foam brush I'll pour out a little acrylic paint and then paint over the tree. I'm giving this tree one coat but I like it to have a little bit of texture so that the green shines through and I can be reminded of what the ornament was before we re purposed it. To give it a little bit of texture I'm just going to shimmy my foam brush over the tree so that it just has a little bit of texture. I would allow that to dry for about 12 to 24 hours. Here's one I did last night and I'm going to be adding a silver garland to. Using this really fun and festive silver beaded garland, I'm going to start at the top. Now what's nice about this is that it's wire. So this is a craft that the whole family can really get involved in. I'm going to wrap my garland all the way around. And you can be as fun or as orderly as you'd really like to be with this. Simple as one, two, three. Once you're done, all you need to do is grab one of these fantastic little jewelry hooks or even a paper clip would be fine too. Using your hot glue gun, what you want to do is add a dabble of glue to the back, allow that to dry and then use a light piece of wire or ribbon to hang it from the tree. This is Coryanne Ettiene, wishing you a very festive happy holiday season.
