Hi, I'm Michelle Burt, owner of Maddycakes, children themed parties and Maddycakes Muse, DIY party crafts blog and today I'm going to talk about the theme Alice in Wonderland and how to decorate for an Alice in Wonderland party. So when I think of Alice in Wonderland, two things pop into my mind, miniature and The Queen of Hearts. However, you can take that theme all kinds of directions because Alice in Wonderland has tons of colors with the Mad Hatter Tea Party and every little girl and boys love tea parties. So when I think of miniature I think of serving the food in little containers. So, for this party, I have the tall shot glasses and some of my daughter's little plastic cups that she plays with and I'm thinking it would be great to put your food in it. I also put a spoon and wrapped it with some coordinating fabric so the kids could easily just take it, have a little bit of pudding and it's easy and it's all so cute. For my table I wanted to add some height so I took a cardboard box. I wrapped it in some fabric, coordinating colors of course and I put some cards in front to coordinate with my theme. I use a deck of cards throughout this entire party. For my centerpiece I took some tea cups and I just stacked them and you don't want to go too high with that unless you glue them but I want to reuse these because their my mom's china. So I just stacked them and I put some roses in and wallah, you have a simple and easy centerpiece, throw in some teapots too around. Like I told you before, I have great ideas to use through a deck of cards. I actually got two decks of cards for a dollar at The Dollar Store and I use them throughout all the party decor. For the cupcakes, I took a card, I simply put a bamboo stick on the back. I glued it and I just stuck a card into the cupcake and that's a very easy cupcake topper. I also made a banner with it. I just took the cards and glued it onto a piece or ribbon and made a banner. You can go as long as you want. To bring in also the little drink me and eat me tags that remind you of The Mad Hatter Tea Party, I just took a piece of card stock and I stamped it with my little stampers and put, you can put eat me and drink me on your items and you can actually attach it to it just like it was in The Mad Hatter Tea Party. I shopped my house and found this shelf and I just used it to display my cupcakes in. It gives it great height and I love the fact it had hearts in it. I'm so lucky like that. So this is what I used for my decor for an Alice in Wonderland party.
