Hi, this is Nicholas Larocci, the home source guy. President and owner of Source Development Inc., a residential and commercial construction company in Garnerville, New York. And this is how to remove excess grout from textured tile. Now the biggest piece of advice I can give any homeowner is to remove the grout in the prescribed time. Don't let it setup. Remove it you know as soon as it starts setting. For homeowners I advice doing small concentrated areas. Some of the grout dries very quickly and the bonding strengths are crazy. The really you know all these additives in epoxies that they add now really increase the bond. So especially if you have a textured tile or any sort of like general surface tile. You just want to remove as much of it as you can from the beginning. If the grout residue does dry on textured tile there are home remedies, there are materials that you can get directly from the grout manufacturer that loosen the grout and help remove it. But there are also other grout removers essentially grout is a form of cement regardless of whether or not they add the additives or the epoxies or whatever. This particular one is highly acidic and if you do have an extremely textured tile really outside of scrubbing it with you know the 3M scrubbers or you know the sponge applicators the only way you are going to get it out is with an acidic based cleaner. So you want to pour this on, let is set for awhile. Wait till it loosens it up and remove it. But remember this is extremely caustic. You have to watch, wear gloves. Watch contact with your skin or eyes and make sure you remove it entirely. After you are done you can clean it with a mild detergent. If there's any haze or residue left you can wipe it off with a damp or dry cloth. This was how to remove grout from textured tile. This is Nicholas Larocci, the home source guy. President and owner of Source Development Inc., a residential and commercial construction company in Garnerville, New York. And I'm helping you build a better life. We'll see you next time.
