Hi, I'm Eric Barany, President of Pizazz Floors and interior design. Thank you very much for joining us today. Today's issue is going to be cleaning wax off of hardwood floors. A common solution for cleaning and maintaining your hardwood floors is grandma's good old fashioned recipe of water and white vinegar. So now you want to know what the mix is. Basically it is a gallon of water, there was a little in here prior, so that's a gallon, to a teaspoon of white vinegar. Now you're probably not going to use the whole mix so it is safe to throw away but use what you're going to use and then just discard the rest. Alright it's the day after your holiday party, starting cleaning everything up and you notice you've got some wax, some red wax, left over on your hardwood floors. So what are you going to do? How are you going to clean it? How are you going to get it up? Basically what you're going to start with is a sponge. You want to use a sponge because you want to be able to regulate the water that you use. You don't want to be creating a slip and slide here, just enough water to dampen the floor and clean up the wax. Take the sponge, dip it into the solution that we concocted earlier, wring it out good and now, you're going to take the sponge, apply a pretty good amount of force, start wiping the wax. You'll notice that some of the wax came up and some of it is left on the sponge. You want to take the sponge with the residue that's left on it, dip it back into the bucket. At this point you're going to be repeating the steps and you're going to be wiping the floor over and over again until all the wax is gone. Once the wax is sufficiently cleaned up, you're going to want to go over it one more time just to get any of that final residue up. Now that everything looks great, enjoy your wood floors. Now you know how to keep your hardwood floors sparkly and clean. I just showed you how to remove wax from your hardwood floors.
