Picking the right moment to pop the question makes a marriage proposal a memorable occasion. New Year's Eve is the marked occasion of the end of one year and the beginning of another. Some people take this opportunity to make resolutions of change in their life. Take full advantage of this holiday to propose marriage to your one true love.
The Stroke of Midnight
The stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve marks the end of one year and the beginning of the other. At this moment, many count down the seconds and prepare to celebrate. Many choose to kiss at the moment the new day arrives. Use this moment of embracing to propose. As the countdown begins, typically at 10 seconds before midnight, kneel down before your beloved on one knee. In the excitement, the partner may not realize what is going on until you speak the words of commitment. Time the wording so her answer falls upon the coming of the new year. The midnight kiss will then be the first as an engaged couple. This technique takes timing and practice. Have the words prepared. Remember that it may be noisy in the location of the proposal, so be prepared to speak loud and clear.
Surprise Engagement Pary.
On New Year's Eve, some people choose to celebrate at home with friends or family. The cost of going out and the crowds of people motivate many to throw a home party. Use this excuse and occasion to through a surprise engagement party. Invite your friends and loved ones to attend, including parents and siblings. Plan traditional party foods and instruments of celebration for the strike of midnight. Just before midnight, propose a toast to the party goers and ask your perspective mate to join you where you stand. Instead of proposing a toast, propose to your chosen love. The party then becomes a celebration of the engagement along with the coming year.
A New Resolution
Often at New Year's Eve parties, participants share their resolutions for the coming year. Some wish to lose weight while others have higher ambitions of success. Use this moment of resolution-sharing to propose marriage. If the sharing of resolutions is not planned, suggest it to the other party goers. When it comes the time to share, list a few unimportant or realistic resolutions, then inform the crowd that your final resolution for the year to is marry your mate. The proposed may be in shock, but the crowd will typically warrant them to answer the proposal. Spend the rest of the evening looking forward to the year to come together.
