One of the first considerations an engaged couple makes is the budget of their wedding. For those on a smaller budget, the wedding venue will have to be inexpensive. If the couple is located in Washington State, there are many options through the parks department alone. There are few indoor locations that offer inexpensive options; however, there are plenty of affordable outdoor options to consider.
The Friends' Barn is located in Port Townsend, Washington in Fort Townsend State Park. This replica of a 1800s barn is used for multiple events. It seats up to 100 people. The ceremony and reception can be held here because there are 20 tables available for use. There is no catering service available, so the bride and groom must furnish their own reception food. A refrigerator and large outdoor grill are located onsite. Any audio equipment needed for the ceremony is available but is an additional cost. The barn itself costs $175 per day plus a reservation fee and any applicable taxes. This amount is current as of 2010.

The Vista House is located in Mount Spokane State Park just outside of Mead, Washington. This structure was built in 1934 by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The granite building is located high enough that wedding guests will be able to see both Canada and the United States. The inside of Vista House holds only 40 people. For larger groups, a ceremony must be held outside. Prices vary according to the number of guests attending the event. As of 2010, the prices range from $60 to $150.
