Pool Party Goody Bag Ideas

Pool parties are a favorite with kids of all ages. They are popular in the summer, but also can be hosted in the winter at an indoor location. Many parties, particularly birthday parties, end with a goody bag being given as a thank you for attending. If you are going to stock your goody bags with water-related goodies, give the bags out when guests arrive. That way they can use their gifts while playing in the pool.

Water Toys

  • Water toys are almost a must when it comes to pool party goody bags. Small water guns, silly sunglasses, and even blow-up floating devices all can be used immediately by guests. Beach balls and balloons for filling with water (if you don't mind cleaning up the mess) are another fun choice. The children appreciate the gifts and they will be used as part of the festivities.

Useful Items

  • Slip a few useful items into the party favor bags. This will make the moms happy, and the children might appreciate them also. Include a pair of inexpensive flip-flops to wear around the slippery pool. A small bottle of sunscreen will protect those who forgot to bring some. A pair of goggles will help swimmers with sensitive eyes. Include a towel if the goody bags are large enough, or include one of those super-absorbent small towels.

Sweet Treats and Fun Items

  • No goody bag is complete without sweet treats. An ice-cold water bottle is sure to be a hit with hot, thirsty children. Freeze it beforehand to make sure it is extra cool. Avoid placing anything in the goody bags that will melt, such as chocolate. Instead, stick to hard candy or items such as popcorn balls. Make sure none of the guests have food allergies before choosing the treats. If it's a birthday pool party, include such items as birthday hats and noisemakers. Stickers with a summer or water theme, colorful plastic bracelets and other trinkets will round out the goody bag.
