Unique Destination Wedding Sign-in Book Ideas

One of the main themes of destination weddings is that they give you the opportunity to be non-traditional. Although, it is common for couples to display a guest book outside of the church or reception at weddings, the couple often never looks at the guest book again. Instead, you can use creative guest book ideas to make a different kind of guest book. Use pictures, old mementos or even a Polaroid camera to make your destination wedding guest book a little different.

  1. Photo Book

    • Give your guests something to enjoy while they are signing the guest book. A photo guest book also makes a great keepsake for you and your spouse to keep forever. Use a photo creation website, such as Shutterfly.com or Blurb.com, to create a photo book of the your life together as a couple. Fill the left pages of the book with pictures of the couple with friends and family, on fun trips and as children. Include space on the right pages for the guests to write a message. Instead of the traditional name and address lines, ask your guests to write a special message or memory.

    Polaroid

    • Take advantage of the instant developing functionality of a Polaroid camera to create an original and fun wedding guest book. Leave the camera with a guest book attendant, who can take fun photos of guests before they sign the book. Use a guest book designed to hold Polaroid photos. Guests can insert the picture they’ve taken in a slot in the book and write a caption or message below. You will enjoy looking back and seeing the fun the guests had at your wedding and reading their funny messages.

    Wishing Well

    • You can create a wishing well in a variety of ways. Leave slips of paper and writing utensils on a table next to a pretty glass vase, a literal “wishing well” or a box with a slit in the top. Have the guest book attendant instruct the guests to write a message to the bride and groom, offer advice for the future or share a memory, and slip it into the wishing well. You can use the wishes to later make a scrapbook or add to a wedding display in your house.

    Photo Calendar

    • A photo calendar is a unique and useful guest book idea. Design a photo calendar at a photo creation website or at drugstores like Walgreens or CVS. Fill the calendar with pictures of the couple and their lives with friends and family, but only fill half of the photo page with pictures. Leave the other half of the page blank for guests to write their messages. Make a page for each month so that there will be plenty of room for the guests to write.
