Mosaic designs can add flare to any room in your home. You can add mosaic tile mural designs to your kitchen as a back splash, to your bathroom shower stall or as flooring throughout your home. You also can decorate an empty wall space with a mosaic mural. Ideas for mosaic tile mural designs include patterns with intricate detail, as well as more simple patterns.
Incorporate a mosaic tile mural in your kitchen as a back splash or as an accent to the kitchen's theme. You can add a back splash above the sink in a floral pattern, such as blue and white flowers. You also can choose a complete scene. Create a colorful mural of wildflowers with blue, red, yellow and orange blooms and green stems and leaves. You also can add a back splash behind the stove and counter. Add designs with such subjects as birds, a meadow, fairies and pixies, flowers or butterflies.
In a shower stall, mosaic mural tiles can be laid out to depict such underwater scenes as fish with seaweed and coral or a mermaid swimming in the ocean. You also can choose from such ideas as tropical scenes of a beach with palm trees or dolphins cavorting in the ocean. If you prefer a still life mural, create a mosaic of your favorite artist or painting. If you like vintage signs, create a mural based on antique ads or posters.
For floor murals, use mosaic tile borders in all your rooms to tie the decor together. Or choose designs that are centered on the same theme to use throughout your home. You can choose such interesting floor designs as old world maps or folk art scene of "Noah's Ark" or the "Peaceable Kingdom." Create an original piece of mosaic work. For example, in the kitchen, include a mural of your favorite foods or of a family having a meal together. In the living room, add a mosaic tile mural of a country image with animals or your favorite pictures from childhood.
Create a large and detailed mosaic tile mural design if you have open wall space. For an abstract design, you can create multi-colored tiles in a pattern across the entire wall. Add swirls or squares in alternating colors. Use large and small tiles. For a religious mural, choose from what of many biblical scenes, such as "The Last Supper." For a more ambitious project, use an entire wall to create a Japanese-style mosaic tile mural.
