There is more than one way to hang a photo and it does not necessarily have to be in a traditional picture frame. Photos add a touch of warmth and familiarity to your space. Photos are also one of the easiest ways to decorate the walls in your home or living area. There are several creative ways to hang photos without having to use a picture frame. Most of the materials needed are probably right in your own home. Otherwise you might have to make a quick trip to your local hardware store.
Wire and Metal Binder Clips
For an industrial look, measure a horizontal area of plain wall and install a pair of eyehooks in the appropriate places. Run a length of stainless steel wire through the hooks and secure by wrapping the ends around each hook tightly until the wire is taut. Hang the photos, in an attractive arrangement, using small steel binder clips. A home office or even a spare wall in the kitchen is the perfect place to display photos on a wire.
Rope and Wooden Clothes Pins
For a down-to-earth and informal look, hang varying lengths of thin rope vertically from nails driven into the wall. Secure the bottoms with a small nail driven into the wall. Hang the photos, in an attractive arrangement, using wooden clothespins. This is a perfect way to display photos in a child’s room or even in a home office.
Antique Coat Hangers
For a vintage look, hang several antique coat hangers fitted with pants clips from nails driven into the wall. Secure each photo from the clips to complete. For a more dramatic effect, hang black and white photos instead of colored ones. You can create a sophisticated look for your bedroom, or even a guest bathroom, by utilizing the coat hangers to hang your photos. If the coat hangers are in poor condition, you can repaint them in vibrant colors to match the décor of the room.
For a glamorous look, hang an unwanted faux pearl necklace from a hook driven into the wall or even on a door. Attach a large and fluffy artificial silk flower to the hook to conceal it. Attach the photos to the necklace by using double-sided adhesive tape. Alternatively, you could also use a rhinestone or beaded necklace instead.
