Abington Art Center

  • The Abington Art Center (abingtonartcenter.org) is in Jenkintown and resides in the historic Alverthorpe Mansion, which was built in 1936. The Art Center's 27-acre estate hosts outdoor weddings in the Manor's Sculpture Park, according to its website. For ceremonies, a wooden pergola is available. Hilltop House

Mondays through Thursdays, Hilltop House charges $450 to rent the house, as of April 2009. The manor rents the house for $1,050 on Fridays and Sundays during the fall and winter to local residents, according to its website.

National Canal Museum

  • Located in Easton, the National Canal Museum (canals.org) is in the Two Rivers Landing complex, adjacent to the Crayola Factory (crayola.com). Wedding guests have opportunities to see a life-size gondola and mule statue at this venue. For outdoor events, wedding parties may charter the Museum's Josiah White II Canal Boat; the Boat cruises on the Lehigh and Delaware Rivers. The museum provides on-site catering for events.

Soldiers and Sailors

  • Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall and Museum (soldiersandsailorshall.org), on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh, is dedicated to the servicemen and women of the U.S. Armed Forces. As of April 2011, wedding parties may rent the Hall of Valor and Gettysburg Room for $550, according to its website. These rooms accommodate small wedding parties of 100 guests, and up to 75 guests may attend a banquet reception in Hall of Valor and Gettysburg Room. Both rooms have oak-lined walls. The Hall of Valor showcases numerous military medals, while the Gettysburg Room houses two authentic Civil War-era cannons, according to the website.

Civic Club of Harrisburg

  • The Civic Club of Harrisburg (harrisburgcivicclub.org) provides scenic views of the Susquehanna River from its rooms. This wedding venue charges $200 Mondays through Fridays throughout the year, as of April 2011, according to the venue's website. The civic club resides in a mid-19th century Tudor-style mansion with elegant décor in its ballroom. Outdoor weddings occur in the civic club's gardens, which feature Victorian-era benches and an ornate stone wall. All of the civic club's catering comes through Karen's Catering (karenscatering.com).
