Different Ways to Make Whiting Fish thumbnail
Whiting fish is widely used in the traditional fish sandwich.

Whiting fish is a fish that is served mainly in fish sandwiches. This fish has a delicate texture and can become flaky with too much moisture. The fish is best prepared fried in deep batter. The fish has similar properties to cod, and also comparable to the Alaskan pollack. Whiting fish is a European staple in fish and chips. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Deep Fry

    • Prepare your cooking oil. You can mix together a fish batter or purchase one from the store. Follow the directions on the package and begin to mix the batter in a bowl. Dredge the fish thoroughly and season as needed. Once the oil has reached the proper temperature, slowly place the fish inside. The fish should cook in between five to seven minutes, based on how crispy you like the fish. Remove the fish and place it on a plate with paper towels so the grease can drain off. Serve the fish with your favorite vegetables or other side dishes. A tartar sauce would be a good addition.

    Grill

    • Remove the grill rack from the grill and wrap entirely with aluminum foil. Turn on the outdoor grill. Place the whiting fish on a baking sheet and season both sides as desired. Drizzle a little olive oil over the top. Place the grill rack on the grill. Once the grill heats up to the right temperature, you should spray the rack with a non-stick spray of your choice. Place the fish pieces on the grill and cook evenly on each side for three to four minutes. After six to eight minutes, check that the fish is completely done. Remove from grill and serve.

    Bake

    • Place the whiting fish on a plate. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Choose the seasonings you want on your fish. You can add lemon pepper for a light spice flavor, or you can add cayenne pepper for a hotter taste. You can also mix a variety of spices to your liking. Take out a baking pan and spray it with a non-stick spray. Place the seasoned fish in the baking dish and place in the oven. Cook for twenty minutes total time, flipping the fish over at the ten minute mark. Remove from oven and serve with your choice of sides.

    Boil

    • Start a pot of water boiling. Add salt to the water. Place the whiting fish on a plate and clean it thoroughly. While waiting for the water to boil, choose a side sauce to use for dipping. Prepare a few side dishes to serve with the fish. For example, you can have a salad, white rice and vegetables. Place the fish in the boiling water and cook about seven to ten minutes. Keep an eye on the fish, as it can begin to crumble. Remove and drain. Plate the fish and serve with your choice of sauces.
