Present Wrapping Ideas
The thoughtfulness that you put into wrapping a gift does not go unnoticed. Create a personalized present by wrapping it in something unexpected. Make the gift stand out from the rest and be remembered by thinking outside of the gift bag, or purchased wrapping paper. Merge the gift with the wrapping and you can save time and money.

Plain Paper
-
Wrap gifts in any plain paper you have around, such as butcher paper, or even copy paper if it is a small item. Use markers to write or draw your own designs on the wrapped gift. On larger pieces of paper, apply handprints or other designs with finger paint. Let it dry before wrapping a gift.
Recycled Paper
-
Reuse the newspaper, comics, old maps or pages from an old dictionary to wrap presents. Find inexpensive coffee table books at your local thrift store. Tear out the large pages and use the book exclusively for wrapping presents in an interesting way.

Wrapping with Part of Gift
-
Wrap a present with part of the gift itself. For example, use a baby blanket to wrap a gift for a new infant, or a dish towel for a wedding shower gift. Other ideas include putting a small gift inside a colorful sock, pair of mittens, or rolling a present in a scarf and then securing with hair ties or ribbons.
Alternative Containers
-
Wrap gifts in unused Chinese take-out boxes, baskets or plastic bins from a dollar store. Make the gift container part of the present by finding an object that your recipient can use. For example, place a kitchen gift in a large soup pot. Secure the lid with ribbon and attach bow-shaped pasta instead of a real bow.
