Make sweet and sour rum drinks for your next party. You can use spiced and light rum to create delicious drinks for your guests. They will be transported to a tropical location with the first sip. Pina coladas, daiquiris, rum sours and cable cars are easy to make so you can spend more time with your friends than behind the bar.
A pina colada is a popular and simple drink to make. Add to a blender 1 1/2 oz. light rum, 1 oz. coconut cream, 2 oz. pineapple juice, 1/2 cup of crushed iced and half a banana. After blending it for 20 or 30 seconds, pour the finished cocktail into a Collins glass. You can garnish the drink with pineapple or other tropical fruit.
Rum sour is an easy drink to make. Combine 2/3 oz. of lemon juice, 2 oz. golden rum and 1/2 tsp. of superfine sugar in a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a cocktail or sour glass. Garnish with an orange slice.
A daiquiri is perfect for summertime parties. It's fruity, sweet and you can customize the recipe. For a classic daiquiri, pour 2 oz. of light rum, 3/4 oz. of lime juice and 1 tsp. of sugar into a shaker. Shake well. Then, pour the drink into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish the drink with a lime slice. To shake things up a little, just substitute a different fruit juice for the lime juice.
The cable car cocktail requires spiced rum. For one serving, pour 1 oz. of spiced rum, 1/2 oz. of orange liqueur, 1/2 oz. lime juice and 1/2 oz. sour mix into a shaker. Shake it well. Then, pour the mix into a chilled cocktail glass.
