Ranging in hue from vibrant blue to radiant red, the four flavors of Tarantula Tequila can be used to create a variety of interesting cocktails and drinks. Tarantula Tequila is a mix of tequila and citrus liqueurs offered in Azul (blue), Strawberry (red), Resposado (gold) and Plata (silver).
Tarantula Azul's blue color adds flair to a number of possible drink recipes. To create a Spider Bite, mix 1.5 oz. of Azul with 5 oz. of energy drink over ice. Create a Spider Dew by mixing 4 oz. of Azul with 4 oz. of Mountain Dew over ice. For something a little more elaborate, choose the Barking Spider. Create this drink by mixing 1.5 oz. Azul with 1.5 oz. of Blue Curacao Liqueur, .75 oz. Montego Bay Rum, 1 dash McCormick Triple Sec, 1 dash sweet and sour mix and 1 splash orange juice.
Tarantula Strawberry with its bright red hue offers a number of drink possibilities, especially for those who like their drinks sweet. The Chocolate Strawberry Rita Tini is made in a martini shaker by mixing 1.25 oz. Tarantula strawberry, .5 oz. Cream Coffee Liqueur and .75 oz. of half and half with ice. Line the rim of the glass with chocolate and garnish with a strawberry. Create a Strawberry Margarita Cheesecake with 1.25 oz. of Tarantula Strawberry, .75 oz. of pina colada mix and .5 oz. of half and half. Rim the glass with graham cracker crumbs and garnish with a strawberry.
If shots are your drink of choice, the golden Resposado offers several possibilities. The Banana Boat contains 1.5 oz. of Resposado, .5 oz.of banana liqueur and 1 oz. of lime juice. The Hot "T" contains 2 oz. of Resposado and 3 dashes of Tabasco. Tequil O'Neil includes 1.25 oz. of Resposado, .25 oz. of orange juice and a splash of club soda. Or try the Low Rider, featuring 1.5 oz. of Resposado, .5 oz. of McCormick Triple Sec and a splash of cranberry juice.
The silvery Tarantula Plata offers several elegant drink recipes. Try the Merry Widow Cocktail, served in a champagne glass, by mixing 1 oz. of Plata, 3 oz. of champagne and a splash of orange juice. Or if something spicy is more your taste, try the Platini, featuring 3 oz. of Plata, a splash of dry vermouth and a splash of tabasco, served in a martini glass with a jalapeno. For something more traditional, the Tarantula Sunrise includes 1.25 oz. of Plata and 1.5 oz. of orange juice served on the rocks with 2 dashes of grenadine drizzled on top.
