Wedding band tattoos are a more permanent way of saying "I do." Getting a wedding band tattoo is a great idea if you and your betrothed like body art and want to incorporate it into your marriage commitment. Research wedding band tattoos to discover one that will perfectly represent your special union.

  1. Names or Initials

    • Tattoo your significant other's name around your finger in a cursive script font or a bold font, for a standout look. If your spouse has a rather long name, opt to do his initials, and vice versa. You might get your tattoos in different colors that represent an aspect of each other, such as getting your spouse's name tattooed in the color of his birthstone or his favorite color.

    Rings

    • Get a wedding band tattoo that resembles a ring, complete with a diamond or other stone you love and yellow-gold or silver-grey coloring. This is a fun idea if you can't wear your actual ring all the time, for instance if you work a lot with your hands; with a tattoo, your "ring" will always be visible. Don't do a ring design that is too intricate, with multiple small stones depicted, as with the swelling following getting a tattoo the small colors and details can end up blurry.

    Words and Phrases

    • A romantic phrase, statement or word around your finger can make a lasting representation of your love. For example, you could do words or phrases like "Love," "Always and Forever," "Eternity" and "For Life." You could also tattoo the month or date of your wedding, song titles significant to your relationship or even something with a bit of humor, like "Taken" or "Married." If you both speak a foreign language, you could have phrases written in that language, too.

    Religious Symbols

    • Religious symbols are an option if you two would like to incorporate your religion into your wedding band tattoos. You can do tribal symbols for love, Celtic symbols for love or marriage, the Irish claddagh symbol that represents love, loyalty and friendship, a cross or really any significant symbol of your relationship. As with the wedding band designs, keep symbols basic, avoiding designs that have too much inside detail.
