How to Make a Hoodie Look Good With Jeans
Even if a hoodie isn’t a staple of your wardrobe, it’s one of the more comfortable items most people own. A “hoodie,” the nickname for a hooded sweatshirt, comes in all different styles, colors and materials. The two most common hoodie styles are zip-up, with a zipper running from the collar to the bottom hem, and the pullover, in which the wearer pulls the hoodie over her neck. Both styles are featured in different colors and fabrics and may or may not include a front pouch pocket. Classic sweatshirt material was originally used for making hoodies, but the popularity of this versatile piece has led to more delicate variations with soft cotton and fitted seams for a less causal, more cute, style of hoodie.

Wear Dressy Jeans
-
Anyone will look sloppy if she throws on a hoodie and some grungy, ripped jeans three sizes too big. The trick to making your hoodie work for your denim is to choose flattering, fashionable jeans, in a dark rinse that contrasts well with the color of your hoodie. Jeans that that contain 5 percent or more elastic in the material also ensure that the denim fits your body properly and evenly accentuates your curves. Fitted jeans are particularly good for balancing a loosely fitting hoodie.
Wear Decorative Shoes
-
This doesn't mean you need to wear 3-inch stiletto heels, but sprucing up your jeans and hoodie requires wearing something on your feet besides last year's running shoes. Choose vibrant design schemes on dressier shoe materials such as leather that are also comfortable. Some shoe styles that let you dress up your jeans and hoodies include ballet flats and wedge heels. Paint your toes during warm weather to give yourself a clean, continuous line, from the top of your hoodie down to your pinkie toes.

Wear Hoodies of Different Fabrics
-
Sporting the standard sweatshirt-cloth hoodie is fine for the gym or a walk in the evening, but making your jeans and hoodie look good requires decorative, more elegant fabrics. Cable knit hoodies, cashmere hoodies and ultra-thin lambswool hoodies are all comfortable ways to keep warm while upping your outfit's formality. Brightly colored hoodie sweaters, such as in pastels and jewel tones, stand out against dark denim better than gray or navy. If long-sleeved hoodie sweaters make you itch, wear a thin silk undershirt as your first layer.
Add Some Bling
-
Adding delicate, coordinated jewelry to your jeans and hoodie ensemble makes you look sophisticated and feminine. Choose jewelry that complements the tone of your hoodie sweater. For example, if your cashmere hoodie is deep teal, wear delicate silver swirl earrings and a dressy watch. For a mooted-color hoodie sweater, such as oatmeal or gray, stick with jewelry that is equally classic and traditional, such as small pearl studs.
