What Can You Cut With a Silhouette Craft Cutter?
The Silhouette Craft Cutter, originally designed for scrapbookers, allows the paper crafter to create a variety of projects using all types of materials. While paper designs such as cards, invitations, gift wrapping and scrapbook designs might be the most obvious, the creative crafter will quickly find she is able to use her Silhouette for other projects as well. These include vinyl and wall decor, sewing projects, Fabdesigns to make custom apparel and etched glass and even for temporary tattoos.

Papers
-
The Silhouette will cut through a variety of papers, such as card stock, construction paper and printer papers. You can use it to create custom die cuts for a scrapbook page of any true type font you have on your computer. You can also make your own shapes and designs without the use of a cartridge. Remember to use your Silhouette with specialty papers, such as magnet paper and transparencies, for additional versatility.
Fabric
-
You can cut all types of fabric easily with your Silhouette. Use it to make darling puffy flowers for a child's barrette, to add on a basket or attach to a decorative quilt. Cut out letters to customize sewing projects. Make your own banners, with alternating cutout hearts in each banner. Or add a name to the banner in a contrasting fabric.

Vinyl
-
Adhesive vinyl allows you to create your own custom accents for home decor. You can print an inspirational saying and adhere it to the wall, along with designs to complement the theme. Accent a lamp shade with a flower or swirly design. Use vinyl on glass, wood or appliances and then just remove it later.
Tattoo Paper
-
While few parents want their children to sport permanent tattoos, temporary tattoos add fun to a fair, carnival or party. You can cut these in any size from tattoo paper and adhere them with water. You can also apply them to balls, notebooks, journals, clipboards and door hangers.
