Scottie Dog Crafts
Taking the iconic Scottish terrier dog as inspiration, there are a number of craft activities available to make your own Scottie dog. The following craft activities are suitable for both children and adults, although some will require adult supervision.

Shapes

You can make a Scottie using different shapes. Due to the unique shape of the Scottie, it is possible to create your own by using shapes as a guide. Cut out a rectangle for the body, a square for the head, two small rectangles for the legs and small triangles for ear and tail shapes. You can either use colored paper or glue a pattern to the shapes. Young children will enjoy placing the correct shapes in order to make the Scotti as well as a teaching them about different types of shapes.

if you are looking for a more difficult challenge, you can design a quilt featuring a Scottie dog. There are various books, specialist quilt magazines, and websites such as Quilters Cache and Quilt Design Northwest that offer Scottie dogs quilt pattens for your own use.

Origami Scottie Dog

Origami can be a fun way to create your own Scottie. Origami is a folding paper art, which originated from Japan, and is often used to create small animals. With a piece of paper, it is possible to fold it in different shapes until it clearly resembles a Scottie. For the novice this may seem difficult, but the design and instructions are available online for making origami animals on websites such as Origami-Instructions and Origami-Fun.
Once the origami Scottie dog has been made, you can color him in, or design patterns for his coat.
Scottie Sock Doll

Both children and adults can make a Scottie sock doll. You will need a stretchy sock, poly-fill to stuff the sock, rubber bands, scissors and a hot melting glue gun. If you are making this with a child, ensure you supervise at all times, as it involves using scissors and strong glue.
Once you have made the basic Scottie sock, you can decorate it with buttons and other materials.
