50th Birthday Crafts
A 50th birthday is a huge milestone in a person's life, and it should be celebrated with as much gusto as possible. In addition to presents and speeches, 50th birthday crafts help to express love and honor to an individual on her special day. Simple birthday crafts need not be expensive to be meaningful. The point is to create personalized mementos that celebrate 50 years of living. Does this Spark an idea?

Timeline
-
Create a large timeline on a piece of butcher paper, listing all the memorable events that have taken place during your loved one's lifespan to date. Write the individual's birth date on one side of the timeline, and the current date on the other. Fill in the timeline with dates and matching historic happenings, such as memorable speeches, presidential elections, pop culture movements and technological innovations. Cut and paste images to correspond with the major events, or simply decorate the timeline with colorful accents and embellishments.
Edible Art
-
Bake and frost 50 cupcakes. Set them out on a table, along with sprinkles and bags of colored piping. Invite your party guests to come to the table and decorate cupcakes for your guest of honor. Encourage them to sign their name on the cupcakes. Present all the decorated cupcakes to the birthday girl in lieu of a traditional cake.

Scrapbook
-
Purchase a large photo album and fill it with pictures, ticket stubs and other mementos from the birthday boy's life. Ask members of the family, friends and co-workers to provide you with copies of their personal photos so that you can have a wide assortment of images from many different seasons of life. You can also add some relevant poetry, scriptures or song lyrics throughout the pages to add an extra personal touch. Also, add a few pieces of paper in the back of the scrapbook, and ask party attendees to write a short note to the guest of honor after they have looked through the pages of memories.
Party Crown
-
Make a homemade birthday crown out of construction paper. Simply tape two pieces of paper together lengthwise to size. Cut ridges into the top, so that the hat becomes a crown. Decorate with glitter, and draw a big number 50 with marking pens. Place the crown on the 50-year-old's head, and celebrate 50 years of living with the queen of the evening.
