Christian Skits About Marriage
Marriage has special significance and meaning for Christians. Along with acting as the foundation for building families, Christians consider marriage a metaphor for the relationship between Christ and the church. Teach others about the importance of healthy, Christian marriages through skits you can perform in church, at outreach events or couples conferences.

Isaac and Rebekah
-
The biblical narrative of Isaac and Rebekah helps illustrate how Christians should trust God to help them find their future spouse. In this narrative, found in the book of Genesis, Abraham tells his servant to find a wife for his son, Isaac. God shows the servant that Rebekah is the woman Isaac should marry and brings her back to Abraham's house. The two love one another and marry joyfully. In your skit, highlight how Isaac and Rebekah trusted God's will for their lives and listened to their parents' counsel when choosing a spouse.
Jacob and Rachel
-
A skit that tells the story of Jacob's pursuit of his wife Rachel can demonstrate the importance of patience in a marriage. In the story, Jacob falls in love with Rachel and ends up working 14 years for her father, Laban, in order to marry her. At the story's end, have the narrator explain that Jacob showed selflessness and patience by working for Laban so he and Rachel could be together. Similarly, Christians should be selfless and patient in marriage, enduring difficult times for one another's sake.

Adam and Eve
-
You can take a skit about the first couple, Adam and Eve, in many directions. Reenact the events of Chapters 2 and 3 of Genesis to explain God's design and purpose for marriage. Alternatively, take a creative look at Adam and Eve's marriage after their eviction from Eden, like Fred Passmore's "The Battle of the Sexes: Round 1." Passmore's skit follows Adam and Eve as they leave Eden and come face to face with life outside of paradise. Each blames the other for their situation and the two continue quarreling until both realize that God still loves both of them, despite their faults. Skits like this one can demonstrate how making God the center of a marriage can help resolve conflicts between men and women that are the result of sin.
Overcoming Marital Problems
-
Instead of using a Bible story in your marriage skit, find or write a script that depicts a fictional married couple living in modern times. For example, your skit could tell the story of a husband and wife who begin telling small lies to one another, lose each other's trust and eventually contemplate divorce. The couple might seek the counsel of a pastor or other Christian leader who encourages them to forgive one another and restore their marriage with a new focus on Christ. A skit like this shows the importance of honesty, trust and forgiveness in maintaining a healthy marriage.
