How to Make Your Own Air Freshener

Here's an easy and inexpensive recipe for an aromatic, earthy air freshener that you can make yourself.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Witch Hazel
  • 30-40 dried bay leaves
  • 4 tbsp. dried sage
  1. Step 1

    Gather the following ingredients: 4 tbsp. dried sage; 30 to 40 crumbled, dried bay leaves; and 1 c. witch hazel (liquid).

  2. Step 2

    Combine ingredients in a medium-sized glass jar.

  3. Step 3

    Mix well and cover with a lid.

  4. Step 4

    Let mixture sit at room temperature for three days.

  5. Step 5

    Mix again.

  6. Step 6

    Strain herb leaves from mixture.

  7. Step 7

    Pour the liquid into a spray bottle.

Tips & Warnings
  • Witch hazel is available at most drugstores.
  • Room temperature should be over 65 degrees F to allow fragrances to fully bloom.
  • This mixture will keep for several months.
  • Do not spray directly on clothes or fabric - it may stain.

on 7/2/2006 Lightly spritz some of your favorite cologne on a lamp's light bulb when it is cold. Turn on the lamp and it will emit a pleasant smell.
