Wash and dry your china thoroughly, keeping the manufacturer's instructions in mind.
Step2
Store all china in zippered china protectors. Clear plastic wrap provides an inexpensive yet equally effective alternative.
Step3
Stack plates together, placing a paper plate in between each one. This will prevent the base of a plate from damaging the decorative surface of the plate underneath it.
Step4
Stack cups together, keeping them separated with any type of paper product.
Step5
Protect the spout of a china teapot by simply slipping a cardboard toilet paper roll over it.
Step6
Store your collection of china in a low cabinet if you live in earthquake country - or if you consider yourself especially clumsy.
Tips & Warnings
You can use any kind of paper to separate plates and cups, including paper napkins.

on 11/22/2005 I use flattened out coffee filters between my plates. You can also put them between cups. The filters also take up the least space.
