How to Crochet a Necktie

Things You'll Need

• Crochet hook
• Fingering weight yarn

Instructions

1. Chain 48 stitches.

2. Single crochet into each chain, starting with the second chain from hook. Chain 1 and turn. Work every row in this manner until your work measures 13 inches.

3. Decrease on each side of every third row until you have 11 stitches and your work measures 18 inches.

4. Continue to work these stitches until your work measure 33 inches, or the desired length before the tie flares.

5. Increase on each side of every third row until there are 24 stitches.

6. Continue working until your work measures 43 inches, or desired length. Cut the yarn and pull it through final loop. Weave in all ends.

• Work this necktie at a very tight gauge.
