How to Get Pen Stains Off a White Leather Couch

If you discover ink marks on your white leather couch, your heart might sink as you wonder if the couch is ruined. It is difficult, but not impossible, to remove pen marks from leather furniture. There are several household products that can be used to remove ink stains. Act quickly, before the ink has time to set and become permanent.

Things You'll Need

• Clean cloth
• Water
• Liquid dish soap
• Hair spray
• Cotton balls
• Nail polish remover
• Rubbing alcohol

Instructions

1. Wet a cloth with warm water, and apply 2 to 3 drops of liquid dish soap. Rub the ink mark with the cloth.

2. Spray hair spray onto the ink mark, and rub it gently.

3. Wet a cotton ball with nail polish remover, and gently dab the ink mark. If you see the ink coming off, gently wipe in small circles until the entire mark is removed.

4. Wet a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol, and gently dab the spot. If ink starts to lift, gently rub the mark with the cotton ball until all ink is gone.

Tips & Warnings

• Always test an inconspicuous spot on your couch, such as underneath a cushion, with the cleaning solution before you apply it to a visible area of the couch.
