Instructions

    • 1

Rub a tennis ball firmly over the scuff marks to erase them.

    • 2

Rub the scuff mark with the sole of a tennis shoe, as if you were stomping out a cigarette. This method sometimes works for larger scuff marks, especially on linoleum floors.

    • 3

Use a large pencil eraser to wipe out smaller scuff marks, just as if you were erasing a pencil mark. Don't use this method on white floors, though, because the eraser may leave behind stubborn pink residue.

    • 4

Wet down a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, wring it dry, and then rub out the scuff mark just as you would any other stain.

    • 5

Spray a moderate amount of WD-40 onto a clean, dry cloth. Rub the stain out with the cloth. Wipe the leftover WD-40 away with a wet towel when you're finished so no one slips on the greasy surface.

Apply a bit of toothpaste to a clean cloth and rub the scuff mark with it. Wipe away the residue with a damp cloth.

Tips & Warnings

  • Check for over-the-counter products in your local hardware store specifically designed for removing scuff marks. Follow the directions from the manufacturer.

  • If you're using a chemical removal process, test a hidden area of the floor first so you won't damage it where the spot can be seen.
