Remove any dust or debris from the nap of the velour with the nozzle of a vacuum. Or, use a fabric brush. Brush against the direction of the nap to clean it. Then make one final pass in the direction of the nap to restore its texture once you're finished.
Velour's plush nap is created by knitted fibers cut on the bias. As you wear velour, the nap may become fixed in one position and change the color of the velour. When you sit on and wear velour, pressure, moisture and heat can combine to fix the nap in one position. This happens to all velour at one point or another. Returning the nap to its original position is as easy as cleaning and moisturizing it.
Dampen the nap. Cover it with a damp (not wet) towel, or spritz it with distilled water from a spray bottle at a distance of roughly 8 inches to moisten it (do not soak it).
Leave the velour to air dry overnight in a room with plenty of air circulation. The nap will un-fix itself as it dries.
