How to Take a Girl's Measurements
Knowledge of a girl's exact body measurements is important so that she can purchase properly fitting clothes. Young girls should know their waist, hip and inseam measurements, while older girls should know all three, in addition to their bra size. Having someone else take a girl's measurements is ideal and makes for more accurate results than if she were to take them herself.

1
Take her measurements while she is in her usual underwear for the most accurate results.
-
2
Wrap the tape measure around her upper torso directly below her bust to measure her bra size. Her arms should remain straight down while you do this. This number will be her bra band size. Then, measure around the fullest portion of her bust to determine her cup size. If the the number you get is one inch greater than the first measurement, her cup size is A. A two-inch difference indicates a cup size of B and so on. For example, a girl who measures 32 inches below her bust and 35 inches around the fullest area of her bust wears a size 32 C bra.

Tie a string snugly but comfortably around her waist. Then, have her bend to each side, causing the string to loosen and fall to her natural waistline. Wrap the tape measure around the string right where it is and record your result in inches. This number is the measurement for her natural waistline.

4
Wrap the tape measure around the fullest area of her hips, ensuring she stands tall with her feet together. Check that the tape measure is straight all the way around and then record her hip measurement in inches.
-
5
Measure the area from her ankle bone to the top of her inner thigh in inches, and ensure she stands up straight. Record this as her inseam measurement.
