Kool-Aid is a powdered drink mix that was created in 1927. It was invented by Edwin Perkins and is now sold by the Kraft Food Company. There are many flavors available including generic ones such as cherry, apple, grape and orange along with the creatively-named options including Surfin' Berry Punch, Grapeberry Splash and Scary Black Cherry. The packets of flavored powder are unsweetened and are mixed with water and sugar to create Kool-Aid.
