How to Clean Clown Makeup From Clothes
A clown costume is incomplete without a full face of makeup. A white face, rosy cheeks, design around the eyes and a bright nose is the basic clown face look, and this thick makeup is often difficult to remove. Whether you are a professional clown or you wear a clown costume simply for Halloween or a similar event, you must figure out how to safely remove any clown makeup that smears onto clothing, without damaging the clothes. Things You'll Need
- Makeup remover wipes
- Laundry stain pre-treatment
- Laundry detergent
- Washing machine

Lay the piece of clothing flat, and wipe the fabric with a makeup remover wipe. Blot away any thicker makeup, then rub gently. Use a clean area of the wipe each time, to prevent the makeup from spreading to other areas of the clothing.

Apply a laundry stain pre-treatment to the clothing. Use a spray or a stain stick, and follow the directions as instructed. They typically tell you to allow the stain lifter to sit on the fabric for about 30 minutes before laundering.

Place the clothing in your washing machine, and wash it as you normally would, using your regular laundry detergent.
