SpongeBob Squarepants, a popular cartoon character, works at a fast food restaurant called The Krusty Krab. SpongeBob's work uniform includes a tall white hat with an anchor emblem. The uniform appears in many episodes of the show, and the Krusty Krab hat would be a fun touch to a costume for a child. These hats are not available for purchase, but you can make them easily with a few basic materials.
Step 1
Place the white felt on a flat work surface. Measure the felt against a baseball cap to see how wide your cuts should be. The Krusty Krab hat will need to fit over a baseball cap, so mark the felt with a pencil to ensure the correct width.

Step 2
Cut out a 12-inch-long felt oval.
Step 3
Cut the oval in half through the middle so that you have two 6-inch-tall halves. Each half will form one side of the dome-shaped Krusty Krab hat.
Step 4
Draw a large anchor on one oval half using a blue fabric marker. The anchor should cover most of the oval.
Step 5
Glue both ovals together with the anchor facing forward and the blank oval facing the back. Line the edges of each half with fabric glue and press them together. Leave the flat bottom of the oval halves open. Let the glue dry.
Step 6
Place a few pieces of crumpled newspaper inside the felt to make the hat stand up easily.
Step 7
Glue the dome-shaped felt onto a baseball cap to complete the hat. Allow the glue to dry before wearing.
Tip
Choose a baseball cap with a blue brim to match the character's hat more closely.
