How to Make Origami Fortune Teller Crafts
Make a paper fortune teller to tell the future for friends and family. Make up your own fortunes to give your friends a good laugh. You can make different fortune tellers for different circumstances; for instance, one with the names of future boyfriends and girlfriends, one with future careers and yet another one with funny jokes written inside. These fortune tellers are also often called cootie catchers, and they can be folded in less than 5 minutes. Take your time writing the fortunes inside.

1
Lay the paper on the table and fold it in half diagonally. It should now look like a large triangle. Fold it in half again bringing the point on one side of the long base to match the other point on the long base, creating a smaller triangle. Unfold the entire shape.
-
2
Pick up one corner and fold it in to the middle, where the folds created an X shape. Repeat with the other three corners until you have a square shape. Turn the paper over.

3
Fold the corners to meet at the middle, just as you did in the previous step. You should still have a square, but it is very small.
-
4
Keep the square on the table and fold the bottom of the square horizontally so it meets the top; you now have a rectangle. Unfold it, and fold the left side over to meet the right. Unfold that as well.

5
Slip your fingers into the flaps on the bottom of the fortune teller and push it together. Once it has formed the correct shape, you can color it and add the numbers and fortunes. Pick four colors to go on the flaps covering your fingers. Numbers 1-8 should go on the inside flaps you see when you open and shut the fortune teller. Carefully lift the numbered flaps and write the fortunes underneath.

Tips & Warnings
Use a piece of paper that is at least 6 inches square, so your finished fortune teller won't be too small.
