Buying Dad a tie for Father's Day is practically an American tradition. Instead of buying Dad another forgettable piece of neck wear, decorate one for him to make it special. You can start a new tradition in which Dad wears his decorated tie for Father's Day every year. Kids can decorate a tie using many types of craft items. Dad will love a custom tie that was personalized just for him.
Things You'll Need
- Cotton tie
- Fabric paint
- Paintbrush or sponges
- Paint pens
- Fabric glue
- Google eyes
- Craft foam
Lay the cotton tie flat on a work surface with some newspaper underneath.
Paint on the tie using fabric paint, paint brushes and sponges or paint pens. Write a message to Dad or paint a picture. Paint your hands with a sponge and press them on the tie for a cute handprint design.
Embellish the tie with some craft items. Use fabric glue to attach google eyes, feathers, craft foam cut outs, beads or buttons.
Allow your tie to dry overnight and then present it to Dad.
