Cheese steaks aren’t just made in Philadelphia. Make a delicious cheese steak in the comfort of your kitchen -- just add the right spices to the meat before you cook it to really add some zing to your sandwich. Different seasonings add different flavor to your meat and transform the character of your recipe. Add a little bread, some cheese and veggies, and chow down. Tweak a seasoning mixture to your taste buds and create something that’ll have your mouth watering.

Things You'll Need

  • Oil, either olive or canola
  • Brush
  • Salt
  • Pepper or peppercorns
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • Cajun seasoning

Brush both sides of each piece of sliced steak with oil. Use olive oil or canola, depending on your preference.

Sprinkle salt and pepper -- or crushed peppercorns -- on the steak.

Decide whether you want to stay with the classic cheese steak, or whether you'd rather have a garlic cheese steak or a Cajun cheese steak.

Saute at least three crushed cloves of garlic and a splash of oil in a pan over medium heat if you're making a garlic cheese steak. Once the garlic is cooked and fragrant, use the oil to cook the cheese steak.

Sprinkle 1 Tbsp. of Cajun seasoning per serving of cheese steak to create a spicier Cajun cheese steak. Cook as usual.

Tips & Warnings

  • Cook steaks with a pat of butter for a slightly richer flavor.
