How to Display Motivational Sayings

We could all use a little inspiration. Motivational sayings derive from many different sources. They come from radio shows, television programming, sermons or even your own grandmother. At times, they are found in the Bible or self-help publications. For example, one of Oprah Winfrey's favorite quotes from the book "A New Earth" is "When you become comfortable with uncertainty, infinite possibilities open up in your life." If Oprah wanted to be reminded of this inspirational quote, she would have several choices for display.

Things You'll Need

  • Picture frame
  • Mug
  • T-shirt
  • Computer
  • Bumper Sticker
  • Business cards
  • Enclose it in a frame. One of the simplest ways to showcase your favorite saying is to have it mounted in a picture frame. Quotations can also be purchased already displayed in this fashion or on a plaque.

  • Write it on a coffee mug. If you have a favorite quote that isn't readily available on preprinted mugs, go to a shop where you can paint your own pottery and do it yourself. While there, you can choose other pieces for display rather than a cup such as a plate or bowl.

  • Wear a quote on a T-shirt. To show the world your favorite saying, don an article of clothing that shows what inspires you. Just about any business that prints T-shirts can customize a shirt for you.

  • Display it on a bumper sticker. Another way to get your thoughts out to the world is by letting your car do the talking. Magnetic bumper stickers are now available in case you want to easily change your message.

  • Type it on a screen saver. If you want to save a dime and yet display a motivational saying where you see it frequently, enter it on your computer. Choose a funny quote and you will become an office hit.

  • Wear it on a piece of jewelry. Lance Armstrong popularized wearing your motivation on your arm with his yellow silicone "Livestrong" bracelets. You can do the same on items like a necklace pendant or even engraving the inside of a watch for a special private message.

  • Add it to your business cards. Create a brand message for yourself and your business by adding a motivational quote to your business cards. They can be included on the front of the card in a small font or printed on the back if you need more room. Make sure the quotation appropriately reflects the image you want your business to portray.

Tips & Warnings

  • Your motivational saying should be appropriate for the situation, such as what you choose to display at work.
