A photo booth is a perfect idea to spice up any event as guests can take personalized photographs at their convenience. You can create one similar to those in the malls by using digital technology. It can be used at various events and you can hire it out to make money.

- 6 plywood sheets (8 foot by 3 foot)

Screw three plywood sheets (8 foot by 3 foot) together at the edges at 90 degrees to create a box with one side open. Add another sheet (4 foot by 4 foot) to cover the top and add molding at the corners to make the booth more stable.

Attach an extra plywood sheet measuring 2.5 foot long on one side and attach another piece of plywood at a right angle from the current piece to create a smaller box and leave one side open. Screw in one-half of a hinge on one edge of the open side; screw the other half of the hinge to an extra sheet of wood to create a swinging door. On the extra sheet of wood cut a hole on the edge opposite that of the hinge, place a lock and bolt it in tightly.

Using the jigsaw, cut out holes for the camera, computer screen and printer where you have attached the smaller box.

Drill two holes at the top and fix the curtain rail and a curtain at the entrance. Add props of your choice like hats, stools or wigs to personalize your booth.

Rent lights from a local photography shop if you don't own any. Position the lights in the box overhead where people will stand; ask for assistance at the shop if you don't know how to do it as lighting will affect the quality of the photographs,

Mark an "X" in the booth where people will stand. Place the 'X" near the camera to reduce shadows.

Download photo booth software online. Visit the website and select "download spark booth." You will receive a trial edition for 30 days before deciding to purchase.

Place the camera, computer and printer in the mini cubical. Fix the USB code of the camera to the USB port on the computer and the computer to the printer through the 2nd USB port. Lock in the equipment for safety. Power on the computer and the printer. Set the camera to manual and enable the PTP (picture transfer protocol) to allow it to send pictures to the computer directly.
