Instructions for Terro-PCO Ant Bait

Terro-PCO ant bait contains the active ingredient borate, which, when taken by ants back to their colony and ingested, kills the entire colony, not just the workers that enter your home. You can purchase this ant bait in ready-to-use bait stations, or in 16-ounce or 1-gallon bottles of the liquid bait. Many people looking for an ant killer that has little toxic risk to pets and humans yet is highly effective use this ant bait. However, the product must be used properly in order for it to kill the entire ant colony.

Things You'll Need

  • Water
  • Measuring cups
  • Teaspoon
  • Piece of cardboard
  • Make an ant bait station if you are using the liquid from a bottle. To do this, mix 3 cups of water to 2/3 cup of the Terro-PCO liquid. Put about a teaspoon of the mixture onto a scrap of cardboard. The cardboard can be of any size as long as it holds the bait.

  • Place the ant bait station along a wall and as close as possible to where the ants are entering and traveling through the room.

  • Use an ant bait station for about every 2 feet of ant trails. You may need to adjust the number of ant bait stations you use depending on how many ants are coming into the home. If a single bait station is overrun and depleted by ants within a few hours, then put out a second station next to the first one.

  • Leave the ant bait stations in place for up to three months. If the ants eat all the bait before three months, then replace as needed. Once you place the bait stations out, you should expect that the ants will be gone within about three days. If you still have ants in three days, you need to put out more bait stations.
