Pillsbury Moist Supreme Funfetti is a rainbow-colored vanilla cake mix. Pillsbury also makes matching Funfetti icing for decorating. Funfetti can be purchased from most grocery stores and is prepared in the same way as other Pillsbury cake mixes. The colorful composition and light texture makes it ideal for children or birthday parties, especially when coupled with matching icing. With only a few minutes of prep time required, baking a cake with Funfetti mix is easy.
Things You'll Need
- Cake or cupcake pans
- Cupcake liners (optional)
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup cooking oil
- 3 eggs
- Funfetti or preferred icing
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Coat the bottom of the cake pan(s) lightly with nonstick spray or shortening. Use paper liners for cupcakes.
Blend cake mix, oil, water and eggs in a large bowl. Beat with a mixer or whisk by hand for two minutes.
Pour cake batter into cake pans. For cupcakes, pour cake batter so that each liner is approximately two-thirds full.
Place the pan(s) in the center rack of the oven. For a 13-by-9 inch pan or two 8-inch round pans, bake for 32 to 36 minutes. For 24 cupcakes, bake for 18 to 22 minutes. Insert a toothpick directly into the center of the cake; if it comes out clean, the cake is done.
Remove the cake or cupcakes from the pan and place onto a cooling rack. Allow it to cool completely before frosting.
Tips & Warnings
- The Funfetti frosting comes in a variety of flavors. Frost the cake with the icing and then sprinkle on the included "funfetti" sprinkles.
- Always supervise children in the kitchen.
